Lynda BarrowLynda has practiced yoga for over 30 years. She remembers practicing on a simple cotton cloth in lieu of a yoga mat. Yoga asana was used to prepare the body to sit in meditation and was done privately. Her practice has changed during the past ten years as she took classes and discovered breakthroughs that boosted her personal growth. Among others, Lynda has studied with Ana Forrest, Shiva Rea and numerous instructors at the Kripalu Yoga Center in Lenox, Massachusetts. Through the guidance of her instructors, Lynda has noticed an opening in her heart center that brought about an increase in physical and spiritual vibrancy. Her personal relationships have deepened and improved. Previous difficulties in life now seem so much easier. There is a strong correlation between regular, deep yoga practice and ease of living. A teacher by vocation, she chooses to bring these personal discoveries to her students. Lynda received her teacher training from Kripalu in 2004. Now she instructs both adults and children in local schools and at the Yoga Room in Willimantic CT. Believing that yoga should be accessible to everyone, she teaches a gentle Kripalu yoga class on Fridays. In her classes, students learn to use breathing techniques and restorative poses that increase flexibility and strength. Modifications are offered for those working with injuries or limitations as well as those looking for more physical challenges. She also teaches stress reduction techniques in both yoga and meditation classes. | |

Jessica Lubell Yoga is a form of artistic expression. Like a watercolor painting my practice is about fluidity. The borders between asanas are blurred to form one continuous motion. Fluidity is achieved by being in the body. This is the feeling that each and every cell is pulsing with the energy of asana. |
I have been teaching yoga and I have been a member of Yoga Alliance for the past 3 years after receiving my 200 hour yoga certification in 2005. In 2007, I began my journey to combine my desire to share the benefits of yoga with others, and my desire to work with children. This past spring, I completed a Peaceful Touch workshop and recently, I completed the YogaEd training under the instruction of Leah Kalish. YogaEd’s program certifies me to teach yoga to children in an educational setting, as well as to conduct professional development workshops for teachers on integrating yoga based techniques into their classrooms and personal lives. Currently, I am enrolled in Next Generation’s kids yoga teacher training program. Students find my kind, compassionate energy to be calming, and my playful spirit enables me to engage children easily. These strengths have allowed me to share the joys of yoga with people of all ages.
I found the gift of yoga amidst the chaos of the streets of Manhattan 10 years ago during my graduate studies at Hunter School of Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with children and families. My enthusiasm towards yoga with children began while working at Connecticut Children's Medical Center Therapeutic Day School, when I witnessed the benefits of yoga with children with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. I blend aspects of social work into my yoga teaching, creating a warm, nurturing and supportive environment. Presently I am participating in Dan Leven’s Shake Your Soul/Dancekinetics training and am enrolled in Next Generation’s Yoga Teacher Training. My playful spirit, lightheartedness and sensitive approach to the practice enable children to feel safe, and makes yoga accessible for children of all ages and backgrounds
